Authors of an accepted, registered, and presented paper at AMPS 2023, and which subsequently will appear in the AMPS 2023 proceedings in IEEE Xplore, are eligible to submit a technically extended version of their AMPS 2023 paper to the AMPS Special Section in the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (TIM). Other than following the submission guide below, please especially ensure that the paper meets the scope requirements of TIM.

Special Section manuscripts may ONLY be uploaded in the period of November 24 to December 7, 2023. Please DO NOT try to submit your papers before this date, as the AMPS Special Section folder in Allentrack will not be available.

Manuscript Submission Guide

Please carefully follow the instructions under the “Paper Submission Instructions” heading of IEEE TIM’s Special Section Author Guide. Each manuscript shall be within the scope of the TIM (click to see Scope of Transactions) and based on a paper published in the AMPS 2023 Proceedings. Moreover, the manuscript MUST be technically extended beyond the scope of the proceedings paper, in terms of the overall TECHNICAL content and research results.

Extended Version of Proceedings Paper

If you are submitting an extended version of a previously-published proceedings paper, you must additionally perform the following tasks:

The paper identifier number (157. . .) should be noted in the top right corner of all documents.

All documents should be in PDF format.

  1. Upload a Cover Letter, explaining that the paper is an extended version of a previously-published proceedings paper. It should include the conference paper title and the extended manuscript title.
  2. If any co-authors present in the proceedings version have been removed in the journal version, the reason for the removal must be explained in the Cover Letter. Additionally, the removed co-authors must sign the same Cover Letter, stating that they agree to be removed from the journal version.  If co-authors have been added, please list the author’s name and their contribution to the extended version.
  3. Upload a document with item type "List of Extensions" that explains exactly what has been extended from the proceedings version. Please note that TIM only considers "Technical Extensions"; i.e., the extension must present new technical thing(s), not just more explanation, etc.
  4. Upload a copy of the proceedings paper with item type "Copy of Proceedings Papers".
  5. Cite and refer to your proceedings paper in the extended journal version. Additionally, in the introduction, add a sentence which declares that this paper is an extension of the proceedings paper, or makes reuse of the proceedings paper, or some language similar to that.
  6. It is the responsibility of the author(s) to obtain permission to re-use and re-print materials from the proceedings paper and this permission must be obtained ahead of time from its publisher. The author(s) is (are) solely responsible for this and any other copyright permission-related requirements and issues. As per IEEE rules, if the proceedings paper was copyrighted by the IEEE, this permission is not required.
